Colliding Disasters: adapting to increasing climate and health risks

at COP26

This session will bring together health and climate researchers with practitioners to discuss adaptation options for key risks at the interface of climate and health. We will discuss how risks come together in the form of complex and often compounding events, and practical next steps for countries to reduce impacts on the most vulnerable people.

The session is a side event at the COP26 Health Pavilion organised by the WHO. The COP26 Health Pavilion aims to convene the global health community and its partners at the COP26 UN climate conference, in order to ensure health and equity are placed at the center of the climate negotiations. The Health Pavilion will offer a rich 2-week programme of events showcasing evidence, initiatives and solutions to maximize the health benefits of tackling climate change across regions, sectors and communities.
